Euro-Platform of the
European Community Initiative EQUAL
Discrimination based on origin in the labour market remains an everyday, recurring reality in the European Union, despite the increasing effectiveness of initiatives to fight it. For this reason, as part of the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All and with the support of the European Commission (European Social Fund – Equal), the French Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Employment, in partnership with the German Ministry of Labour and Swedish ESF Council, is establishing a European platform open to all Member States, to better interconnect political and field initiatives.

At the politicy forum on 22th and 23th November 2007 in Paris 10 Top-Recommendations have been discussed and approved, matching and evaluating the results of five former peer review seminars. Within the common mainstreaming process, involving 60 EQUAL devlopment partnerships, these peer review seminars had identified experiences of promising practice and policy recommendations.
